This is a spine-tingling place as it has so many poignant areas. First of all the car park is level and there is level access to automatic doors. There is a museum as well as the monument and trenches. The museum is fully accessible and the exhibits were clear and easy to see from the wheelchair. There is also an availability to book a guided tour, which my family did, but at the tour goes into the trenches below ground, I was unable to attend. However, another guide did explain to me and took me through some of the surface trenches as an alternative, which I really enjoyed. There are toilets available which are okay and an outdoor picnic area here too. The monument is a fair distance away, but the museum guides have access to a golf cart to take ambulant walkers to the monument. I had my electric wheelchair so did not need this, but I did not see such a vehicle for manual wheelchair users. All in all though a very enjoyable day.
