We are a small holiday cottage business based in Pickering. Our cottages are a mixture of those we own and operate ourselves and others that we act as an agency. The common link is that all the cottages have an emphasis on quality, service and a real home from home feel.
Pickering is a small market town and the perfect location for
exploring the Moors, coast and the many historic properties in the area. Fantastic for walkers, cyclists and outdoor pursuit enthusiasts as well as, steam train enthusiasts, and bird watchers. The cottages are quality assessed annually so you can be assured of consistantly high standards. The cottages are all
very individual, many are character grade II listed properties. Almost all have en suite facilities, ideal for couples and most have log fires perfect for winter breaks. Many cottages welcome pets and several are all on one level for those with reduced mobility. The cottages individually sleep 2-13.
We have seven cottages that are all on one level. There accessibility varies for those with mobility difficulties. Below is a summary of useful information so that you can assess the cottages suitability for your individual needs.
Farndale Cottage (Sleeps 2 - 1 bedroom)
- Has level 2 mobility which makes it suitable for those who may use a wheelchair but can take a few steps.
- Facilities include :
- Ground level throughout, no steps, adjacent parking.
- Bedroom with twin or superking size bed.
- It has a shower (small step in) and grab rails.
- Wide doors min 900mm and with plenty of room to maneuver a wheelchair.
- Perching stool, armchair, carver chair and other equipment available.
Kirkdale Cottage (Sleeps 2 - 1 bedroom plus sofa bed)
- Is ground level throughout, no steps with adjacent parking.
- The doors are minimum 800mm, front door 900mm. and there is good space.
- The cottage has two bathrooms one a bathroom with shower over and a shower room with 1200 x 700mm, fixed head shower. Both with low and high level grab rails.
Ellerburn Cottage (Sleeps 5 - 2 bedrooms)
- Access via three steps, with handrail or a ramp.
- Adjacent parking.
- The doors in the cottage are very narrow and there is limited maneuvering space.
- Main bedroom has ensuite shower room with one step into shower tray.
- Main bathroom has a shower over bath with grab rails.
Skelton Cottage (Sleeps 2 - 1 bedroom)
- Located at Levisham Station is all on one level with access via two steps.
- Adjacent parking.
- The internal doors are standard size with all rooms off an central corridor.
- The bedroom is quite small, too tight for wheelchair access.
- Bathroom has bath and separate shower (900x700) with movable shower head. There is low and high level grab rails.
