Cafe Latte is a funky little restaurant, located in the slightly sleepy Hawksburn Village Strip. The kitchen offers an impressive authentic Southern Italian menu and its dining room is modern and welcoming. The light-filled room is lined with eclectic images and the space is overlooked by a beautiful grey marble bar. As expected, the pasta is particularly good here but drop in for breakfast for an Italian meal that's a little different.
Cafe Latte in Hawksburn Village was founded by Luca Lorusso 25 years ago.
The restaurant has since become a staple for locals and regulars alike, who delight in its modern Italian cuisine showcasing Luca's passion for his land. The food of Latte has often been described as "cucina povera" or "food of the poor", cucina povera was born out of necessity and practicality, but it has a richness and complexity that far exceeds the number of ingredients or the simple cooking methods used.
Cafe Latte is ideal in winter for a hearty pasta ragu and cosy atmosphere and perfect on a Summers day, bringing seafood and fresh produce to the forefront.
Luca Lorusso, is also an author of "Sharing Puglia" which is a beautifully designed modern cookbook, full of spectacular on-location photography of the breathtaking Puglia region and featuring 80 authentic Pugliese recipes.
