Grab a spot at Federation Square's Chocolate Buddha to experience a unique, Japanese-inspired, communal dining experience. Dishing out traditional Japanese fare, patrons can expect the likes of ramen, donburi, sushi, and zensai, complimented by a refined selection of sake, wine and local brews. Chocolate Buddha has a special sharing menu for group bookings, so they can whip up some great dishes for your next dinner or cocktail function.
Chocolate Buddha is a casual eatery serving dishes mainly from Japan, but also with influences from Korea and China. Our mission is to serve quality tasty meals in a friendly and inviting communal-seating environment. You can dine in either our beautifully decorated restaurant or outside on our terrace, which offers exclusive and expansive views of Melbourne’s ever-evolving skyline, skirting the Yarra River.
We are proud to be a part of Federation Square, which is perhaps the most important communal landmark location within our amazing city. The land Federation Square occupies was once the home to the Kulin confederacy of Aboriginal peoples. We humbly acknowledge and pay tribute to the Wurundjeri people who are the custodians of this land.
