One of Melbourne's first real wine bars, Dog's Bar has learned a few new tricks over the years and its current owners, front-of-house manager Erez Gordon and chef Paul Cooper, are hoping to restore it to its former glory. The menu is all about wine-focused snacks and meals, with the likes of house-made charcuterie, pastas and share plates of whole-roasted duck or lamb shoulder. Since opening its doors in 1989 as one of Melbourne’s first real wine bars, Dog’s Bar has been an institution in St Kilda. We are first and foremost a local’s bar where everybody knows your name. Our aim is to provide quality food, wines, beers, and service, at affordable prices. We have also established a vibrant live music scene, featuring a mix of local artists and from further afield. All our gigs are free entry.
