Historical Guest House is for the independent and reasonably self-sufficient traveller who likes all the amenities and comforts of home when travelling. We welcome you as a guest and a friend. We want you to feel comfortable and at home. Food is provided for a self-serve continental breakfast - a variety of hot and cold cereals, whole wheat bread for toast, a variety of jams and peanut butter, tea and coffee. Let us know if you have special dietary needs.
It is called self-serve because guests are free to eat breakfast on their own schedule. Since the kitchen is communal it is also available for cooking at any time of the day. We want you to feel comfortable going into the fridge and the cupboards to find what you need. There is room in the house and in the garden under the gazebo for socializing, as well as privacy. We live in the green log house right next door.
There are 2 cozy rooms with private bathrooms, as well as a basement suite with a full kitchen, an en suite bathroom, and a living area with a pull-out sofa and cable TV. The suite includes in-room breakfast.
Self-serve continental breakfast is available in a quaint guest kitchen composed of hand-hewn logs. There's also a communal living room with period-style furniture, a wood-burning stove and satellite TV, plus a yard with garden furniture and a BBQ.
Rose Room
The Rose Room is upstairs on the top floor of the guesthouse. It has a queen-sized bed. There is also a vanity, a closet, a chair, and a dresser. The west-facing windows face the garden and the green log house where we live. Your private washroom is on the Main floor next to the kitchen (there are 2 washrooms - one for the Rose Room and one for the Green Room.)If you have a hard time with steep stairs and have lots of bathroom breaks during the night, then may we suggest you stay in the Cyr Suite with ensuite washroom.
Green Room
The Green Room is upstairs on the top floor of the guesthouse. The room has a queen-sized bed and a single bed. It has a closet and a comfy chair. You can see Grey Mountain from the east-facing windows. Your private washroom is on the main floor next to the kitchen. If you have a difficult time with steep stairs and have lots of bathroom breaks during the night, may we suggest you stay in the Cyr Suite with ensuite washroom.
Cyr Suite
The Cyr Suite is a self-contained unit with open concept and lots of windows. It has two queen beds plus a futon couch/bed. It has a fully equipped kitchen, eating area, seating area with two comfy recliners and cable TV. There is also a private washroom with shower. There are two dressers and an area to hang up your clothes. The entrance is at the back of the guesthouse, and down some stairs - not handicapped equipped.
