Mr Wilkinson Bar in East Brunswick is affectionately named after the Honourable Thomas Wilkinson who founded Brunswick in the 1840's. This tip of the top hat bar is bespoke and cosy in its decor, drinks and food menu, all which have been carefully selected to include high-quality dishes produced with style. Divided into two sections of not pizza and pizza, diners can devour bar snacks of cheese boards and olives to serious feeds of gourmet pizza creations. Explore some unusual wine varieties sourced from local and afar.
In the 1840s the Honourable Thomas Wilkinson became the founder of Brunswick when his house and farmland became the site of the first school and town hall. We tip our hat to the man who created the first local community. In 2008 we built a bar with the intention of offering a relaxed setting for locals to feel at home in. Enjoy Melbourne's spontaneous weather patterns in large comfortable booths overlooking Lygon St, or more intimate tables of two leading out to the brightly lit courtyard. However feel free to sit at the bar and have a chat with one of us for some pearls of wisdom that only an inappropriate barman should know.
Our wine list alternates regularly with the seasons, offering an array of Australian and International varieties, both by the bottle and the glass. If spirits are more to your liking, we have an extensive collection of whiskies, gins, aperitifs and liquors. We also have beers on tap or by the bottle.
