Cruachan Lodge Cruachan Lodge, B869, Lairg IV27, UK

Cruachan is a small family guest house situated in a quiet rural location about six miles north of Lochinver.

A church manse in former days, the house has now been refurbished in recent years to the comfortable levels it now enjoys.

All rooms are en suite and have the usual facilities now expected - TV, teamaking etc. Both the lounge and dining room have open fires which radiate warmth even in the most inclement days.

All meals are home cooked using as much local produce as possible and it is the belief of the hosts that a good mix of traditional Scottish dishes should be available. A restricted licence is held, enabling guests to enjoy a bottle of wine with their dinner and perhaps a good dram after.

Around Cruachan, wild life abounds. The stag, otter and badger can be found within walking distance whilst, from the seashore in good weather, dolphins and sometimes a whale can be spotted. Golden eagle may be seen soaring high among the crags of our lofty peaks.

For the sportsmen, deer stalking and fishing can be arranged. There are over 200 hill lochs mostly occupied by wild brown trout. For novices, fly-fishing tuition can be organised locally. Walking, climbing and cycling can all be done from our doorstep and bicycles are available from the house for the use of guests. Safe, sandy beaches, cliff tops and rock pools are all within easy reach.
