On Carlisle Street, St Kilda, Uncle is a contemporary Vietnamese restaurant with a bar downstairs and al fresco seating above. Chic, moody decor features abstract, jagged feature lights, and a black and white mural of rice paddocks in Vietnam. The menu adds an innovative spin to authentic Vietnamese cuisine, with dishes such as watercress, heirloom tomatoes, puffed wild rice, boiled egg and baby corn, and a Ha Noi fish banh mi with turmeric, dill and mayo.
Our St Kilda and Collins St menus exude the same deliciousness and equal consideration to quality, authenticity and modernity. Both venues are distinctively atmospheric, each with its own personality – like siblings forging their own way in the world, yet sharing the family values of great food to be enjoyed with a smile. Our menus have followed a similar path; pigs ear may bind us, but individuality and nuance abound.
An added bonus is if you are going home from a hard day at work or need a quick lunch fix, take-away is available from both venues. Time poor and have to choose between ironing that large pile of laundry and a nutritious meal? Choose no more… (we’re not doing the ironing, in that task, you’re on your own), but follow the links below to hassle-free brownie points.
