Situated in the historic Mactaggarts Place Woolstore in Teneriffe, Eves is a popular venue for weddings and special occasions, catering for events for up to 200 people. Eve’s began as Eve’s on the river back in 1996 when Gay McCosker and Tanja Caprioli decided to branch out from their Annerly basement café The 2 Faces of Eve. The name Eve’s was conceived as our joint fascination and interest in religion: Eve is the mother of humanity of Adam and Eve fame. The fall from grace has now been depicted on the walls in a colourful and vibrant mural.
Tanja sold the business in 2001 and has remained the landlord the whole time. When the last tenant did not renew Tanja invited Kelly Bloye who served her apprenticeship at Eve’s to partner her in a new incarnation of the venue. The cuisine of choice this time is Italian.
The black and white floor has now made its way up on to the wall to form part of the mural which is a mash-up that includes Alice in Wonderland. The interior has been given a much needed make over although we have reused as much of the old fit out as we could. The outside terrace remains largely unchanged with the same expansive and uninterrupted views of the Brisbane River making it the perfect venue for your special event.
Eve’s has long been a venue of choice in the wedding market and with the fence that briefly cut-off access to the river walk now gone, it is set to be the venue of choice once more.
