South Bank's good-looking Ginga Japanese Restaurant is a reliable stand-by for sushi, sashimi and more. Located opposite the parklands, Ginga is a smart, pleasant open-air eatery consisting of a takeaway sushi and noodle-shop, plus a casual indoor/outdoor restaurant where you can enjoy delicious Japanese favourites ranging from beef tataki to garlic king prawns served on a sizzling hot plate.
Ginga restaurant is a great example of Japanese dining in Brisbane. The menu stays true to traditional Japanese cuisine and has variety and freshness to suit the palate of both seasoned connoisseurs and novices alike. The staff are friendly and accommodating, drawing a great contrast between the outside world a few feet away on the footpath and the authentic feel and decor of the al fresco and indoor dining areas.
Dazzle your tastebuds with the exquisite Gyoza, a Japanese-style dumpling, or one of the ocean-fresh sashimi dishes. Moving on from the entrees, there is a broad choice of traditional style Japanese quinine to appease a variety of tastes. A favourite of mine is the theatrics of the hot plate, direct from the kitchen and served piping hot and sizzling. There is indeed a great variety of choice on the menu at Ginga, enough I dare say to even appeal to the non sashimi crowd out there. For the sushi lovers among you, Ginga has an adjacent take-away sushi bar and then there is the Ginga Sushi Bar further down Grey Street. A fine addition to the myriad of multicultural taste sensations to be sampled on Grey Street.
