Sure, it's got an upbeat name, but Heya Bar looks like the kind of dive Blade Runner's Deckard would stumble into on a particularly stormy night. The Asian-themed drinking den occupies the basement of the old Sun newspaper building in Fortitude Valley and it's moodily lit, plastered with torn retro posters and features billiard tables and pinball machines. The kitchen offers pan Asian street food including sushi and sashimi, plus some quirky offerings like cheeseburger spring rolls.
