A popular pan-Asian eatery, Sing's Asian Kitchen is much in demand amongst the locals of Rosalie. Delicious food and a casual atmosphere create a satisfying evening at this suburban eatery, where guests can enjoy a sensational feast of Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese flavours with friends. Plus, with two other locations around Brisbane, a flavourful plate of XO beef or pad Thai will never be too far away.
This small casual restaurant squashed into a corner of the Rosalie shops and overflowing onto the footpath, may not look like much but you must remember the motto "never judge a book by its cover". This certainly applies to Sing's. The atmosphere – though tight – is pleasant enough. Glowing candlelight creates a perfect backdrop to a sensational meal. Sing's are often very busy, so take this into account when waiting for service. You certainly won't receive five star service and nor would you want to in this kind of environment. It is chaotic but worth the wait.
The food at Sing's is modern Asian influence and the flavours are explosive and designed to impress. Try the ginger shallot scallops on a half shell, steamed and exuding impressive flavours. Follow this with an assortment of small dishes, or some main meals to share. Exotic choices include the saw leave coconut fish – steamed fillet dressed with herbs such as lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, coriander and saw leaves (a Vietnamese herb shaped like a saw). Leave room for the basil duck, a sumptuous meal of thin slices of roasted duck fillet wok tossed with fresh chilli, mushroom, onion, shallots and sweet basil leaves.
