From the owner-chef behind Harvey's Bar & Bistro comes Tinderbox Kitchen, a smart restaurant in one of the alleys of the James St precinct. Tinderbox is a woodfired pizza and wine bar, where the beechwod oven is the star of the operation. The menu is made for sharing, snacking and drinking, with grazing plates alongside epic meals of the likes of lamb shoulder, suckling pig or handmade potato gnocchi.

Dishes showcase distinctive components whether it be our handmade ricotta, or house made Italian pork sausage and dry cured pancetta, derived from local free range pigs.
Our Brisbane designed and built Beech wood fired oven has a significant role in the Tinderbox identity. This is evident in the woody smoky notes it lends to roasted local mushrooms, oven baked leeks and spice-rubbed lamb.
Authentic pizza features frequently on our table. The handformed dough is made from an organic stone-milled flour to create a crisp light pizza base that is as delicious as the ingredients it supports.
Tinderbox is in the bustling James Street precinct, behind Harveys and adjacent to the Palace Centro Cinema.
