YHA New Plymouth Sunflower Lodge is a homely hostel nestled among native trees and bush. It is a lovingly restored boutique hostel, an ideal base to explore Mt Taranaki, Surf Highway 45, the Coastal Walkway, the Sunday Farmers’ Market and much more.
A wide range of comfortable backpacker accommodation is available including 4 share multi-share, female only, twin/triple, double and single rooms. YHA New Plymouth also accommodates families and groups.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas hob stove, large commercial oven, an instant hotwater zip and plenty of storage for your groceries. We also have an herb garden for cooking up Michelin quality meals, a scenic native garden and picnic area complete with outdoor BBQ. Plus we have some extra special add-ons such as Marvy, the resident Poodle cross hostel pup, a guitar, piano, and electric blankets and hot water bottles for those chillier winter nights. We even have free WiFi up to 2GB per day!
YHA New Plymouth is located next to the Te Henui Walkway for scenic bush views, native birdsong and the Te Henui River. The hostel is a 15 minute walk to the town centre and attractions including the award winning Coastal Walkway, Taranaki's favourite museum Puke Ariki, art galleries, shopping, cafes and bars. It is a short drive to Mount Taranaki.
