The Buccleuch Arms is located Smack Bang in the heart of the Scottish Borders, we are a four star Inn with an incredible history originally built by the 5th Duke of Buccleuch in 1836. 

The Buccleuch has just Scottish Inn of the Year award 2015 at the annual Scottish Hotel Awards and more recently runner up in the catering in Scotland Excellence awards for pub and bar excellence 2015.

All 19 guest bedrooms are located on the first floor of the hotel and comprise a mixture of Standard Doubles, Classic Twins and Superior King size beds. Our beds, duvets, pillows and linen are chosen for comfort and quality to ensure that our guests have a great nights sleep, after all, thats one of the reasons you’ve come here.

Each room is slightly different with a look set by large wall-mounted head boards and furnishings, complimented by matching curtains, bedding, chic mirrors and throws. The en suite bathrooms are complimented by smart Tyneham Luxury toiletries. Guest bedrooms are serviced daily by 2.00pm and check out is by 11.00am on the morning of departure unless a prior arrangement has been made.

Set yourself up for the day with a good selection of breakfast choices, including a traditional Scottish Grill. Chef Patron, Billy Hamilton and Head Chef, Gareth Gilder create delicious lunches and dinners every day using lots of seasonal and fresh local produce. In the bar, we serve real ale from the Scottish Borders Brewery and offer a quirky wine list with iover 20 wines served by the glass using a Verre de Vin preservation system.  

Take a look at where we are on the map, The Buccleuch (pronounced ‘bucloo’) is a five minute walk from the River Tweed.  For walkers, we are along the St. Cuthbert’s Way and near to the Southern Upland Way.  For golfers, St. Boswells has a great golf course.  The village also has a cricket pitch, garage, a co-op, a country sports shop and a fabulous book shop and cafe, called Mainstreet Trading.
