The Ivy House Country Hotel is a “Hidden Gem” nestled on the banks of Oulton Broad amongst 21 acres of gardens, lawns, ponds, marshes, and thatched barns all with direct access onto the broads. Guests can enjoy relaxing walks in beautiful grounds or venture out onto the broads pathways, or further still to the nearby coast.
On 21 acres of gardens, this upscale, country hotel and restaurant is 2.9 miles from the coast and 4.3 miles from the amusements of Pleasurewood Hills.
Modern rooms have free Wi-Fi, TVs and desks, along with tea and coffeemaking facilities. A suites adds a balcony.
Complimentary full English breakfast is served in an upscale British restaurant located in a restored, thatched barn. A modern bar and lounge offers views over the gardens. The hotel also provides space for wedding and conferences.

The promenade and golden beaches to the south of Lowestoft are just 5 minutes from the hotel, together with coastal walks. Local attractions such as Africa Alive, Pleasurewood Hills, and beautiful villages such as Southwold are within 15 minutes by car.
For families we have two dedicated rooms, a suite in the courtyard that sleeps 4-5 people and a 2 bedroom flat in the farmhouse (includes lounge and kitchen facilities).

We pride ourselves on using the freshest, local ingredients we can find and ensuring that we take advantage of seasonal foods. Our proximity to the coast provides us with excellent access to the best seafood products on our doorstep.
Our Head Chef Keith Parton and his team are constantly ensuring that we keep refreshing the menu with new and interesting dishes and produce a range of daily specials. Guests of the hotel are treated to biscuits that are waiting for them on arrival in their room and diners can enjoy the range of freshly made homemade breads and fudge, which have proved to be so popular that they are now on sale upon request.
Relax in the stylish newly-created Eve’s Bar and enjoy a cream tea, a pre-dinner drink, or a bar snack. Enjoy the panoramic views of the garden, ponds and watch the sailboats go by on Oulton Broad.
Enjoy an intimate drink in the unique hayloft lounge above the bar that has beautiful views across the Broad. On warmer days the large Bifold doors open the bar to the gardens creating an almost al fresco atmosphere. We have a fantastic range of bar snacks, from homemade flavoured cashew, peanuts, and walnuts to tempting sandwiches and our take on some old favourites, all using locally sourced fresh produce. Enjoy a picnic hamper and a glass of bubbly in the beautiful grounds of Ivy House.
