Blagdon Farm Blagdon Farm, Ashwater, Beaworthy EX21 5DF, United Kingdom

Introduction / Description

Set in the heart of Ruby country (so called after the Ruby Red cattle farmed locally), Blagdon Farm is a working small-holding only a few miles from the wide sandy North Cornwall beaches at Bude and Widemouth Bay, the stunning Cornish resorts of Boscastle and Padstow (home to Rick Stein’s famous seafood restaurant), and the spectacular scenery of Dartmoor and Exmoor.  The ancient port of Clovelly and historic Tintagel Castle are close by and the attractions of the Eden Project, the Tate St. Ives, and RHS Rosemoor Gardens are all within easy reach.

The bright lights of Launceston with its ancient castle, steam railway and bustling shopping centre is just 10 miles away.  Here you will find Tescos, a retail park and many local shops.  The pretty market town of Holsworthy is just 5 miles away where you will find crafts, excellent local produce and there is a market every Wednesday.

All our lodges are South facing with private terraces enjoying magnificent views over our own coarse-fishing lake to the rolling Devon fields and woodland beyond.

Blagdon Farm is the perfect place from which to explore both Devon and Cornwall and you’ll be sure of a very warm welcome.

Established in the late 1990s the accommodation at Blagdon Farm, rated at 3 and 4 stars with an Accessibility rating of M3A, was a South West Excellence Award Winner in 2007.

We have 6 two-bedroom lodges and 2 one-bedroom lodges which were all purpose designed and built to be 100% fully-accessible for disabled people and they are rated at 4* or 3*.

The two bedroom lodges sleep up to 6 + cot and the 1 bedroom lodges sleep up to 4 + cot. Please note that we do not accept more than 5 adults in the lodges sleeping 6, or more than 3 adults in the lodges that sleep 4 because the sofa-beds are small doubles.  Prices are based on up to 4 adults in a 2 bedroom lodge and up to 2 adults in a 1 bedroom lodge.

To ensure that you can relax and enjoy your stay each lodge is luxuriously equipped with an HD flatscreen television , washer, fridge/freezer, cooker, and microwave.  With the exception of Woodpecker all lodges have a dishwasher. In the 2-bedroom lodges there is a wall-mounted TV in the master bedroom. There is free WiFi in all the lodges and public areas.

There are patio doors to the terrace from the lounge in each lodge and in the master bedrooms of the 2 bedroom lodges.  All lodges are fully double glazed and have computer controlled gas-fired central heating to maintain temperatures at a steady PHE recommended 18.5C (temperatures greater than 20C can be arranged for an extra charge), so that even in winter you’ll be really snug.  There are feature convector heaters in each lounge area (except Wagtail and Woodpecker) for additional heating.  Our lodges are traditionally block built so the heat and sound insulation is very effective.

Each lodge has outdoor furniture, access to a rotary washing line and a level parking space immediately outside. Please note that additional vehicles must be parked in the service yard and there will be an additional charge of £5 for a short break or £10 for a week for the additional parking.  Every lodge has a large covered porch area where you can kick off your walking boots, store bikes, mobility equipment or fishing gear in a dry area. The following lodges have an external electric socket for charging mobility equipment: Kestrel, Curlew, Kingfisher and Swallow.

Sleeping capacities are given below (although a cot can be added if required). Click on the link to see detailed information and photographs of each lodge and links to Trip Advisor reviews:
