El Portal Sedona Hotel was selected as an architectural masterpiece by “Keep Sedona Beautiful” and is Sedona’s only Arts & Crafts adobe hotel. We are dedicated to providing an extraordinary lodging experience for guests and their pets in unpretentious luxury. The boutique hotel was designed and built with pets’ needs in mind with tile and wood flooring throughout; while at the same time offering guests the best in modern amenities and unparalleled concierge services for the Sedona area. We are not a traditional hotel or resort, we provide our guests with the comforts of home and the superior services of a four-star hotel at an excellent value.
This upscale, adobe Arts and Crafts hotel is next to the Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village, and an 11-minute walk from Uptown.
The individually decorated, rustic-chic rooms feature period furnishings, tile floors and stained-glass accents. All have Wi-Fi, TVs and minifridges, along with cashmere blankets, and Egyptian bed and bath linens. Some rooms may include fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, patios and pet yards.
Gourmet breakfast (fee) is served in-room or in a cozy lounge with exposed wood and stone decor. A facility fee covers access to the gym, 2 pools and a spa at the neighboring Los Abrigados Resort.

In the creation of El Portal Sedona Hotel all work was performed by hand and eye, as in the original way. As a result, the subtle, inviting sense of culture forms a wonderful link to the spirit of the past. Just as carefully, building materials were taken from nature wherever possible. Windows framed in recycled 200-year-old wood enhances the views of the magnificent sunrises. Experience the calm and peace the hand-sculptured walls and niches subtly offer, as well as the free feeling of space under high ceilings and archways of this beautiful luxury hotel. Twelve spacious guest suites have been created in accordance with the simplicity and function of turn-of-the-century architecture, and feature the finest in modern amenities for our guests. At El Portal we offer our guests unique lodgings in Sedona, we don’t just hand you a key, we welcome you home.
Behind the custom-made door of each suite, you will find museum-quality Arts and Crafts furnishings. Each suite may include such features as an adobe corner fireplace with river rock stone, French doors, stencil designs, hand-painted detailing, stained glass ceiling panels or accents, tile and flagstone flooring, high-beamed ceilings of natural, organic juniper or burl logs, rich tile detailing and arched windows. Every suite has its own private bathroom, and designs may include free-form granite counters, Jacuzzi tub, steam shower, and free-standing claw foot tub. You will find luxurious linens, a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, and mini-fridge, in your air-conditioned suite. Outside the suites, guests can enjoy spectacular views, a private garden or sitting terrace, and our Greene & Green and Santa Fe suites each have a balcony – luxury lodging at its best!
