Introduction / Description

Set in Yellowstone National Park, this rustic lodge is 2 miles from Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, 12.1 miles from Norris Geyser Basin Museum and 16.2 miles from the Fishing Bridge Visitor Center.

Basic rooms offer Western-style furnishings. Cabins are also available.

Amenities include WiFi in the lobby (fee), a restaurant, a cafeteria, a deli and a gift store.

Canyon Lodge and Cabins is a sprawling facility, featuring the most accommodations in Yellowstone with more than 500 rooms and cabins. Located on the east side of the park near the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River, Canyon Lodge is open from the beginning of June through early October. In 2016, a two-year lodging redevelopment was completed resulting in 5 new lodges and a total of 400-plus guest rooms that include 2-Bedroom Suites, Superior Lodge Rooms and Standard Lodge Rooms. All 5 new lodges are LEED Certified. The main public building that houses the restaurants and gift shop was redesigned and reopened in 2017.

Suites

The suite has separate bedrooms and a shared living room, an outdoor deck, a full bathroom, mini-refrigerator with complimentary soft drinks and snacks, telephone, heat, coffee maker, hairdryer, alarm clock, and fan. There is no air conditioning, TV, or radio, and neither pets nor cooking are allowed. These second-floor rooms are accessible by elevator. All lodge rooms and cabins are non-smoking/non-vaping. This Suite has 1 King bed, 1 Queen bed and a queen sofa sleeper.

Deluxe Porch New Lodge Room

The deluxe rooms feature 2 Queen beds, porch with chairs, full bathroom, safe, telephone, mini-refrigerator, heat, coffee maker, hairdryer, alarm clock, and fan. There is no air conditioning, TV, or radio, and neither pets nor cooking are allowed. Upper floor rooms are accessible by elevator. All lodge rooms and cabins are non-smoking/non-vaping. These rooms are located in one of the newer lodges, completed in 2016.

Deluxe New Lodge Room

The deluxe rooms feature 2 Queen beds, full bathroom, safe, telephone, mini-refrigerator, heat, coffee maker, hairdryer, alarm clock, and fan. There is no air conditioning, TV, or radio, and neither pets nor cooking are allowed. Upper floor rooms are accessible by elevator. All lodge rooms and cabins are non-smoking/non-vaping. These rooms are located in one of the newer lodges, completed in 2016.

The deluxe rooms feature 1 or 2 Queen beds, full bathroom, safe, telephone, mini-refrigerator, heat, coffee maker, hairdryer, alarm clock, and fan. There is no air conditioning, TV, or radio, and neither pets nor cooking are allowed. Not all upper-floor rooms are accessible by elevator. All lodge rooms and cabins are non-smoking/non-vaping. These rooms are located in either Cascade or Dunraven Lodges.

Standard Lodge Room

The standard rooms feature 1 Queen bed, bathroom with shower only, telephone, heat, coffee maker, hairdryer, alarm clock, and fan. There is no air conditioning, TV, or radio, and neither pets nor cooking are allowed. Upper floor rooms are accessible by elevator. All lodge rooms and cabins are non-smoking/non-vaping.

Western Cabins

The cabins feature 2 Queen beds, full bathroom, heat, coffee maker, hairdryer, alarm clock, fan, and a shared front porch. There is no air conditioning, TV, telephone, or radio, and neither pets nor cooking are allowed. All lodge rooms and cabins are non-smoking/non-vaping.

Canyon Lodge offers five wheelchair-accessible cabins. Located on the east side of the park, this property is just a short drive from the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River. And although the rooms and cabins are scattered throughout the wooded property, an accessible shuttle transports guests from the lodge buildings and over to the dining facilities, retail outlets and the visitor center in nearby Canyon Village.

Cabin 32 is one of five wheelchair-accessible cabins, and it features accessible parking in front, with level access over to the front door. It’s furnished with a 24-inch high twin bed (with a trundle), and a 26-inch high open-framed queen-sized bed with an access aisle between them. The cabin also includes a table and two chairs, and boasts two large picture windows where you can catch an impressive view of the surrounding forest.

The bathroom is equipped with a roll-in shower with a grab bars, a hand-held showerhead and a fold-down shower bench. The toilet grab bars are located on the back and left walls (as seated), and there’s a roll-under sink just outside the bathroom in the guest bedroom.
