Introduction / Description
Set within the IDS Center skyscraper in Downtown, this upmarket hotel is a 7-minute walk from the Target Center and 1.4 miles from the Walker Art Center.
The classically furnished rooms feature pillow-top mattresses and desks, as well as 42-inch flat-screen TVs, Wi-Fi (fee), minifridges, and tea and coffeemaking facilities. Club-level rooms provide access to a lounge with free continental breakfast, evening appetizers and cocktails. Suites add separate living areas.
Amenities include a modern American restaurant, a refined bar/lounge with free Wi-Fi and a 24-hour fitness center. Other perks include a business center and 24 meeting rooms.
The street outside of the Marquette Hotel has had many names – Minnetonka Street, and even the ordinary First Avenue, South. But in 1916, it was named Marquette Avenue in tribute to the renowned explorer and missionary Jacques Marquette, who voyaged down the Mississippi River in 1673.
It is Marquette’s own joie de vivre and desire for exploration that we aim to bring to every facet of the hotel today. We invite unique, unforgettable experiences that allow travelers to fully immerse themselves in vibrant downtown Minneapolis and the local culture.
Arrival & Car Parking
There’s plenty of accessible parking in the hotel garage, with a barrier-free path to the elevators. Valet service is also available at the accessible front entrance. From the elevator, there’s a ramp down to the front desk on the ground floor. There is also barrier-free access to the adjacent MARQ VII Lounge — a great place to unwind after a long day of sightseeing; and elevator access up to Basil’s restaurant, which overlooks the Crystal Court in the IDS Center. And of course, the staff is happy to do anything they can to make your stay more comfortable.

The elegant guestrooms and suites at the Marquette Hotel are stylishly modern, offering sweeping views of the city skyline and a convenient location in the heart of downtown Minneapolis. Decorated in a contemporary palette of deep grey, gold, and neutral, with sophisticated accents such as herringbone-patterned hardwood floors, subtle historic touches, and sleekly contemporary furnishings, our rooms cater to the business traveler seeking modern conveniences and the leisure traveler seeking a luxury stay in the heart of the action.
ADA Accessible Rooms
We’ve taken a thoughtful and considerate approach in designing our ADA accessible rooms. Amenities include a roll-in shower area with a bathroom seat, a shower with safety bars, a raised toilet with grab bars, bathroom rails, and bathroom doors that open outward.
Room 1250 is a typical accessible guest room, with wide doorways and good pathway access. There is wheelchair-access to the 26-inch high king-sized bed, and plenty of room to wheel around the sofa, wet bar, large desk and chair that round out the furnishings.
The bathroom is equipped with a roll-in shower with grab bars and a fold-down shower bench. The placement of the showerhead — within easy reach of the shower bench — is excellent. Toilet grab bars are located on the right and back walls (as seated), and the room also features a roll-under sink and a lowered make-up mirror. The latter item is often overlooked, and much appreciated. Best of all, the bathroom is very spacious, with a full five-foot turning radius.
