Location
The accessible health hotel Mar y Sol is located in the southwest of Tenerife. A fully accessible, specialist property designed with the wheelchair-user in mind - featuring spacious apartments and studios. The swimming pool is well equipped with hoists and ramps, and you can enjoy one of the many ‘water jets’ to give you a ‘hydrotherapy style massage while you’re in the pool. The architecture of the Mar y Sol is a spanish-style construction, built on two and three levels accessible through out by lifts. 

Three further companys are associated with the hotel:The Center for Prevention and Rehabilitation Teralava, the Diving Center Mar y Sol Aquasport and the Disability Service Station, Lero. 

Access
Access is good in and around the complex. The few steps you come across within the complex can be avoided using ramps. Although the surrounding area is fairly flat, the resort centre and seaside are down an incline. There are accessible taxis to the local town of Los cristianos (free of charge). The swimming pool has a hoist and there is also ramped access. Because the way down to the sea is sloping, it is very easy to reach the beach and the centre of town. Returning to the hotel may present problems for guests with restricted mobility but this can be overcome by using either an electric wheelchair. Less demanding but longer routes to the beach are an option and electric scooters and chairs are available for rent. The Sea front paseo is relatively flat and stretches all the way to the neighbouring resort of Playa de Las Americas. 

Accommodation
There are 127 accessible ensuite bedrooms. A selection of accommodation is available :-

• The standard one-bedroom-apartments sleep up to four people with twin beds plus a living area containing twin rollaway sofa beds. The bathroom with wheel-in shower and/or bath (no grab rails). Small integral kitchenette. Balcony or patio area.
• The recently renovated fully accessible one bedroom superior apartments have twin beds plus a living area containing twin rollaway beds. Bathroom with wheel-in shower and grab rails at WC. Small integral kitchenette. Balcony or patio area.
• Premium one bedroom apartments are equipped the same as the superior apartments but are more spacious and have large terraces or balconies. Wheel-in shower with grab rails at the shower and toilet.
• Studios sleeping 2 in the living area on rollaway beds. These are equppied with the same facilities as the standard apartments.
• Superior studios are available, and are equipped with wheel-in shower with grab rails at the shower and toilet.
• The last option is a Comfort Room, this room has twin or double bed with sofa beds also. The bathroom again is fully equipped with wheel-in shower with grab rails at the shower and toilet areas.
