Clare Johnson and David Wilson used to own The Anchorage Seafood Restaurant in Tarbert but ready for a new challenge, in Spring 2005 they bought the Kilberry Inn. Eleven years on they have entertained world famous opera singers and flamenco guitarists and had cosmopolitan journalists hopping with excitement. There are unconfirmed reports that the Queen dined here during her 80th Birthday cruise and a drawing of the Inn by Peter Howson is on the wall beside the fire.
Clare beat the Hairy Bikers, Si King and Dave Myers in a cook off when they visited the Inn to film part of their BBC2 series “Food tour of Great Britain”. Her recipe is also featured in their cookery book. The restaurant has also been featured in The Glasgow Herald, Harper’s Bazaar, The Sunday Times, Scottish Field, Conde Nast Traveller and holds both a Michelin Bib Gourmand and Good Hotel Guide Cesar award.
The Kilberry Inn, award winning restaurant in Scotland, is a recipe for relaxation, with a warm welcome, a sense of informality and wonderful food, providing the perfect antidote to a busy lifestyle.
