The second bedroom is spacious with a large bathroom and shower area. The bedroom has a single electric bed. Electric profiling bed: Invacare Scan bed 750 with Glide mattress and "bumpers". There is room for a second single bed and a single Aerobed of normal bed height is provided for this purpose. However, this does restrict access to the electric bed. Aerobeds can be inflated in seconds and in fact are first class and surprisingly comfortable. Please ask if you need further information about sleeping arrangements.
There is a discrete and modern overhead hoist for use by our more physically challenged guests. The hoist may be used to facilitate transfers between wheel chairs, shower chair, bed and toilet. The hoist is serviced under a regular contract, as is the bed. It is expected that guests would use their own personal sling for use with the hoist. The shower area is spacious and has a level access. As well as a push-along shower chair there is also a fixed shower chair. The fixed chair has grab rails as does the toilet.
Please note that we have both the electric bed and the overhead hoist regularly serviced and we take no responsibility for any accidents.
On entering the living area you will see a large, open-plan area that has a settee and two comfortable armchairs which can be moved to accommodate a wheelchair if required.
Two large doors open onto the terrace and were designed to enable wheelchairs to access the patio smoothly.
The kitchen is not easily accessible for wheelchair users.
Terrain Around Property:
Flat tarmaced surface outside, concrete ramp from the car parking area to the lodge entrance.
Description
The site is constructed around a trout farm and is very private and quiet.
Lodge 14 is at the far end of the site.
When you arrive you will find ample parking for up to three cars. The lodge has a very wide ramp leading to the front door. If you continue along the ramp you will come to a large terrace at the front of the lodge. The terrace has a large table. Six chairs and two umbrellas are stored in the shed at the rear of the lodge for you to enjoy outdoor relaxation and dining.
Master bedroom
On entering the lodge, to the left you will find the master bedroom. (The door to this room is only 22 inches wide as the room was not designed for use by wheelchair users). The room has a king size double bed and an ensuite bathroom and shower.
Second bedroom with ensuite disabled facilities
The second bedroom is spacious with a large bathroom and shower area. The bedroom has a single electric bed. There is room for a second single bed and a single Aerobed of normal bed height is provided for this purpose. However, this does restrict access to the electric bed. There is an ensuite adapted wet room.
We provide duvets and pillows, you will need to bring bed linen, t-towels and towels.
Living room
Large, open-plan living room has a settee and two comfortable armchairs which can be moved to accommodate a wheelchair if required.
The dining area has a circular, glass table which was specially selected to enable a large, electric wheelchair to fit under.
Kitchen
In the kitchen you will find all the modern amenities necessary to make your stay comfortable. The facilities include – cooker with grill and oven, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and fridge/freezer.
The kitchen is not easily accessible for wheelchair users.
Due to the wooden construction of the lodges, barbecues are strictly forbidden.
