Thornloe is a substantial Victorian House on 3 floors situated on a hill overlooking Oban Bay in Scotland with stunning views towards the Isle of Kerrera and across to Mull. We are just 10 minutes walk from the town centre. All our 7 rooms have their own bathrooms, regrettably we do not have any ground floor bedrooms or a lift.
Thornloe Guest House is completely non-smoking including the house and grounds. Valerie is a keen genealogist and has recently started a DNA project in advance of McIntyre World Clan Gathering in Taynuilt/Oban in July 2018.
As Ancestral Tourism members we are happy to help you with details of local information and availability of records and however we do undertake research on your behalf.. On a fine day you can relax on our Patio in the garden and watch the many ferries to the Islands go by or enjoy the colourful sunsets. We are centrally located and close to Atlantis Leisure Centre which includes an indoor swimming pool, squash and tennis courts, health &fitness suites as well as a bouldering wall.
For a touch of luxury we have a large seaview room with a King Size Four Poster Bed which has a large shower room and seating area to enjoy the panoramic view across to Mull.
