The “Fleur du Jardin” Hotel in Guernsey, contrary to its literal translation, is not The Flower of the Garden but a breed of internationally acclaimed Guernsey cows.In the reception of the Fleur is a descriptive of how the Fleur got its name.

The Fleur du Jardin was a breeding cow of some repute and we would like to think we have maintained that reputation, be it now of culinary hospitality and an envied quality of product. We are what you see, relaxed and informal with a hint of the unusual. Many of our rooms have undergone a stylish renovation programme – bleached timber walls and wet rooms. The Fleur is a building of unique old charm with a sprinkling of contemporary seasoning.

The Fleur du Jardin is set in the heart of the Guernsey countryside. This Boutique Hotel mixes ancient 15th Century farmstead ambience with modern rooms and 21st Century Cuisine.

No accessible parking a concern. Hotel was not easy for disabled people because of slope with steps and no handrail coming from the car park, and also steps with no handrail in the restaurant. Access to the hotel is either by the side entrance across the patio and a couple of steps to the main entrance, or round the side and up a bit of insecure plywood, placed there temporarily to form a ramp. The Garden Rooms are very nice, but the step was larger than I’d imagined. The walk-in shower was great, but not designed for disabled guests, so didn’t have a seat or a separate hand-held shower attachment. Do not consider this hotel if you are partially sighted or have mobility issues.
