The Thames Hotel Maidenhead is a privately owned hotel. It is idyllically situated on the banks of the River Thames near Maidenhead Bridge. The Hotel is perfectly placed for London which is only 30 minutes to the East and of course to explore Maidenhead, Berkshire and the surrounding area. It was a very relaxing place to stay and all the staff were very attentive – if I was in the area again in the future I would stay in this hotel again. The Thames Hotel Maidenhead opened in the late 1880’s during which time it has enjoyed a colourful history. The Hotel housed one of the earliest telegraph offices for the use of its aristocratic guests, and has the dubious distinction of having had a proprietor who lost the freehold on the turn of a card!
The Thames Hotel offers some of the best accommodation in Maidenhead with 35 well equipped, en suite bedrooms. Comprising of 8 Singles, 23 Doubles, 2 Twins and 2 family Rooms located over three floors, all of which are designated non smoking. Each bedroom offers its guests Free Wi-Fi Internet Access, Britain’s fastest available 50 Meg broadband connection, direct dial telephone with self programmable wake up call, FREESAT, Hairdryer, Iron and Board, Tea and Coffee making facilities. We are also able to provide a 24 hour out of house laundry service.
Many of our rooms offer superb views and two of our three executive rooms also have balconies overlooking the River.
Our location in Maidenhead is ideal for visiting many beautiful parts of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Windsor. For those special occasions we are happy to organise fresh flowers, baskets of fruit or even champagne to be placed in your room prior to arrival
The age and layout of the building has prevented the current owners from installing a lift and we currently do not have any accommodation at ground level. However, for those guests requiring assistance there is always someone available to lend a hand or carry the luggage.

Read All ReviewsNo lift access just steep stairs access, so could be a problem if you have heavy cases, children, disabled. Steps up and down all over the place so not suitable for disabled customers. No staff on reception most of the time so anyone can wonder throughout the hotel.
