Dogs are welcome in several of our holiday cottages and we have over 18 acres of grass paddocks for you to exercise your canine friends.
In addition there is a riverside walk and pet friendly pub within walking distance. You can bring up to two dogs per cottage. Guide dogs and Assistance dogs welcome.
Accessibility
At Elms Farm we have nine award winning cottages all with wider doorways and level access suitable for wheelchair users or guests with limited mobility. Six cottages have wet room shower rooms with grab rails. Our large level tarmac car park has designated disabled parking bays offering guests level access from the car through to the cottages.
The Granary - our wedding and conference barn - is also fully accessible to wheelchair users or less mobile guests and has wheelchair accessible toilet facilities.
Beech, Holly, Walnut and Willow Cottages each have two twin bedrooms, a full size wet room shower room with a raised toilet, height adjustable wash basin, grab rails and a shower stool in each cottage. These cottages have an open plan lounge/kitchen/diner with patio doors to an outside seating and grassed area. They have connecting doors in the lounge area which are often popular with family groups or carers. A shower wheelchair is also available and can also be requested when booking if required.
A small ramp with a hand rail leads into the courtyard where Elm Cottage has one double bedroom with an en suite wet room shower room which has a wall mounted shower seat. Elm has grab rails in the shower/toilet area but does not have a raised toilet or adjustable wash basin. This cottage also has a twin bedroom and a bathroom with a shower over the bath, a central lounge/kitchen/diner with a wood burner. Elm has patio doors to the courtyard garden and also to the grass paddock with an outside seating area. Elm Cottage has an electric riser chair.
Oak Cottage has one double and one twin bedroom with a large lounge/kitchen diner with a wood burner and patio doors to an outside seating area and the grass paddock. Oak Cottage has a bathroom with a shower over the bath, with wider doorways and level access throughout the cottage but no grab rails in the bathroom.
Yew and Ash Cottages are next to each other overlooking the courtyard garden and have one king-size and one twin bedroom, a bathroom with a shower over the bath with a central lounge/kitchen/diner in each cottage. Yew and Ash Cottages both have wider doorways and level access.
The Stables Cottage has a small threshold step to the entrance doors. The Stables has three bedrooms, two king-size bedrooms, one with an en-suite bathroom plus a twin bedroom and a walk in shower room which is not suitable for wheelchair users.
All our cottages are fitted and furnished to a high standard with stylish soft furnishings, modern kitchens, leather sofas, wood floors, wall mounted flat screen TVs with Freeview and DVD players.
Elms Farm has an accessible guest laundry with tourist information adjoining The Granary barn with an accessible toilet. Guests can request a shower wheelchair, perching stool or bed rails when booking (subject to availability).
Elms Farm Cottages were winners at the National Enjoy England Awards for Excellence in the 'Access for All' category with a silver award on 23rd April 2009 having previously been awarded the Regional East Midlands Gold Award on the 8th October 2008.
At Elms Farm Cottages we are committed to providing suitable access for all our guests, providing detailed floorplans and large text documents to help you plan your stay. Our cottages are inspected and rated under the National Accessibility Scheme.
As part of our access statement we have provided a scaled plan view of each holiday cottage together with a comprehensive list of cottage measurements which can be viewed online or downloaded, so prospective guests can assess which cottage will best suit their needs.
