The Idle Rocks is situated idyllically on the Harbourside of St Mawes. Perched perfectly on the rocks, it’s the home from home where you can make yourself comfortable in one of 19 individually designed bedrooms, each with its own, unique style and charm. Our restaurant and South facing Terrace offer an ideal location to appreciate the view across the water, whilst enjoying fabulous food, centred on fresh Cornish ingredients. The Idle Rocks is the place to re-engage with the simpler pleasures in life.

OUR ROOMS

Our rooms have been individually designed to provide an environment where guests can truly unwind and relax.

All 19 bedrooms enjoy barefoot comfort, soft, coastal inspired colours, and stunning fabrics leaving you in no doubt that you are beside the sea!

Home luxuries include beautiful bathrooms (some rooms have free standing baths overlooking the sea), underfloor heating, oversized beds with crisp white Egyptian cotton sheets and deliciously generous hospitality trays.

A state of the art Smart TV system provides all the information you need to explore the hotels facilities, the local area and much more.

The majority our rooms boast wonderful views across the harbour and out towards the sea, some towards the quiet beach just opposite; as you wake in St. Mawes, the sound of waves lapping against the very idle rocks below makes you wonder if there is anywhere else like it in Britain.

DOGS AT THE IDLE ROCKS

At The Idle Rocks we have two ground floor bedrooms in our adjoining cottage, Carricknath, where a small well behaved dog is most welcome to stay with its owner.

For your arrival, we’ll prepare your room with a dog bed and towel, a welcome Bonio, bowl for water and maps of local walks with information on dog friendly beaches. We make a one off charge of £30 for the full duration of your stay.

Unfortunately we do not allow dogs in the main hotel. However when you dine with us in our restaurant, your dog can be left in the small courtyard outside your room, where we have CCTV and our staff will keep an eye on him for you or alternatively you can dine at our sister property, The St Mawes Hotel, where your dog is most welcome on the Lower Deck bar and restaurant.
