Cross Close House used to be a farmhouse built in the 1860s and was converted into a comfortable B and B by the present owners ,Val and Alex. We are a small, friendly B and B , run by garden lovers, in the countryside hamlet of West Taphouse.

We have off-road parking and safe accommodation for bicycles.

On arrival you will be welcomed with a Cornish Cream Tea, We have two en-suite bedrooms available. The double room has a kingsize bed and the other has twin beds. They each have a courtesy tray with a good selection of beveridges and home-made biscuits. Fresh milk is available.

There is a small charge for laundry service .

The comfortable guest lounge has books and magazines etc, We have WiFi but it is slow.

You are also welcome to relax in the 1/3acre garden, which has several different seating areas and a summerhouse - perfect for a cream tea on a nice day !

Only the best ingredients are used for our breakfasts and whenever possible we use local produce - including eggs from our own chickens ,local honey and sausages from Lobb's Farm at Heligan.

We provide a Full English Breakfast (or a vegetarian version), cereals, fruit juice and homemade marmalade. You may also choose a lighter cooked breakfast, Special dietary needs - please request prior to visit.

We are 4 miles from the ancient stannary town of lovely Lostwithiel, on the R. Fowey, with a wealth of History in it,s buildings. It has several good restaurants and various antique and gift shops, a mini-supermarket with ATM, a pharmacy, etc.

The stunning National Trust property of Lanhydrock is only 4 miles away ( and the wonderful Duchy Nursery is en-route ! ) We are also conveniently situated for The Eden Project, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, and many other beautiful gardens,, Restormel Castle and Bodmin Moor; Looe, Polperro, Fowey and Mevagissey on the South coast and Padstow, Port Isaac, Tintagel etc. on the North coast.

I stayed here for 1 night and had a great experience. Access to the house via 2 shallow steps. The rooms are very comfortable and clean with plenty of toiletries and home made biscuits. The breakfast is the best B and B breakfast we have ever had , very well cooked with plenty of choices. Would recommend this b & b to everyone.
