The area also offers local fishing in the river Nith, and access to scenic walks with the Southern Upland Way running through Sanquhar. There are also lovely cycle routes in the area as well as access to other country sports.
Situated on the A76, Sanquhar is located between Dumfries to the south and Kilmarnock to the north. A five minute walk takes you to the train station with services to Glasgow and Carlisle. Other local attractions like Drumlanrig Castle, Dumfries House and the Wanlockhead Mining museum are about 15 minutes drive from the Hotel.
