The Old School Hotel is situated in the beautiful village of Port Isaac in Cornwall. The village has been the setting for a number of films and television programmes. Currently the hotel is used as the school in ITV’s Doc Martin, with Martin Clunes. The dramatic coastline is a favourite with walkers, swimmers and surfers and Port Isaac is an ideal place from which to explore the surrounding area. We offer various accommodation from singles to family rooms, all en-suite. The Old School is also licensed for civil wedding ceremonies. The grade II listed Port Isaac Hotel provides free wireless internet access throughout and we also offers residents free onsite car parking.
The Old School Hotel offers 12 rooms, all with individual character. We have 5 kingsize rooms; Latin, English, Biology, Art & Mathematics, 5 small double rooms and 2 single rooms. Most of the rooms have views of either the cliffs to the west, the port to the south or the Atlantic to the north. All rooms are en-suite, have tea & coffee making facilities and breakfast in our restaurant is included in the rate.
The building dates from 1875 and was overseen by Cornwall’s most famous architect Silvanus Trevail, who designed around 50 schools around Cornwall. The hotel conversion came in the 1980s. The hotel has been owned by a local family since 2007.

Read All ReviewsThis is a little gem of a hotel. It is right on the harbour front at Port Isaac. There is no parking at the hotel and you need to park up the hill. Also, the hotel itself has no lifts and the stairs are step so access could be problematic for wheelchair users. The bathroom was small with shower attach but no bath. Overall this hotel is not suitable for Disabled users.
