A delightful Haven of authentic Scottish highland hospitality since 1695 , The Moulin Hotel embraces a warm and welcoming world of peace, tranquillity and traditional Scottish hospitality. Perfectly sited in the village square of Moulin, an ancient Scottish waypoint, the hotel sits peacefully just 3/4 of a mile away from the bustling and perenially popular tourist town of Pitlochry.
This quite superb, rather romantic little inn style Scottish hotel offers a very appealing blend of traditional Highland hospitality in an old world setting overlaid by the comforts and service of a modern hotel.
Moulin Hotel - Bedrooms
All our 15 Bedrooms have ensuite facilities and each is fitted and tastefully decorated to an individual design.
Delightful country inn-style rooms, quiet and soothing, away from the hustle and bustle, and ensuring a good night’s sleep – perhaps induced by one of our great home produced Moulin Brewery ales, or a drop or two of the local malt.
A mixture of standard and superior rooms suitable for all from single travellers to families is supplemented by a self catering annexe with 3 bedrooms, perfect for a small group of up to 6 people.
Self Catering Cottages
MacPherson's Cottage
Formerly Macphersons Old Shop, MacPherson's Cottage is situated in Moulin Square just opposite the Hotel. MacPherson's Cottage is a three bedroomed house, all bedrooms upstairs along with a large bath/shower room. Downstairs you have a further 4 rooms, a good sized lounge, large dining room, kitchen & cloaks/toilets. Outside to the rear are outdoor rooms for storing bikes etc., and a small garden area. The 3 bedrooms comprise a Double, a Twin and a family room (double & single beds), giving 5 separate beds or 7 bedspaces. Decorated & furnished to a high standard, with free parking in the square, altogether a very comfortable unit. Meals including breakfast can be taken in the hotel.
Lilac Cottage
At number 15 Kirkmichael Road, the cottage is again just across Baledmund Road, next to the Hotel. The cottage has two bedrooms upstairs, one with an en-suite shower room. Downstairs you have a lounge, conservatory, dining room & kitchen plus a wet room with toilet & shower. There is private parking and a good sized garden, with outdoor furniture. The cottage has recently been completely redecorated, after being used as staff quarters, and fully refurnished to a high standard. When you consider the price per night is similar to a family room in the Hotel, you get 6 rooms and no-one next door.

Read All ReviewsDecided to have a break at this hotel. The room we were shown to was on the top floor, up two flights of stairs, and was a pleasant double as they dont have accessible room. Admittedly the decor is a little dated, but the room was comfortable and spotlessly clean, and the view from the window was excellent. The shower was simple to operate, albeit a little low in height because of the positioning of the unit which boxed in the extractor system. Hot water in the shower was good, but in the basin taps, was just warm. Parking is available in the square outside, but fills up quickly. There is however an ample sized parking area to the rear of the hotel within easy walking distance. Disabled access may be a little bit of a problem, as the rooms are all accessed via the stairs and there was no lift available. Average stay for me in terms of disabled access.
