The Hume Hotel & Spa is a full-service Nelson landmark property originally built in 1898 and is a must-see part of your trip to the area. This past year, finishing touches were put on the last wing of guest rooms. All three floors have been beautifully renovated maintaining that heritage charm that we are known for. Individually decorated rooms and suites feature traditional decor and all have free Wi-Fi, TVs and minifridges. Suites add hardwood floors, 2 have kitchens and 1 has a vaulted ceiling.
Full breakfast is complimentary. An ornate lobby lounge with a fireplace and live jazz music offers food and cocktails. There's also an English-style pub, a liquor store, a family restaurant and a nightclub.

Heritage Rooms - Our Heritage Rooms have just been completed in February 2016. They have new carpets, bathrooms, flatscreen TV, high definition cable and a unique picture program. They include Queen or King beds with a small fridge, iron & ironing board, desk, chair, private bath, hair dryers and phone. They are all situated above our pub so it is possible that you will hear some of the noise. All of these rooms will have air conditioning available.
Deluxe Rooms - Our Deluxe Rooms have been tastefully renovated while paying homage to our history. They all feature air conditioning and heat control, granite countertops, flat screen TV's, fridges, irons and ironing boards. They feature brand new beds, linens, furniture and bathrooms including a superior amenity package.
Barrister's Suite - The Barrister's Suite is latest premium corner suite to come on line this year. It is our most spacious corner suite that will include a King bed, a sofa bed, electric fireplace, hardwood floors, soaker tub and beautiful design. It pays homage to the lawyers who have requested this room over the decades with its close proximity to the Court House when in Nelson on buisness.
Minnie's Room - This quaint corner room was aptly named after Horace Hume's wife, Minnie. It has hardwood floors, a king bed, flatscreen TV, granite countertops, and offers a beautiful view of the ivy-laden Nelson Courthouse. It has a fridge, iron and ironing board and has air conditioning.
Rapunzel Room - This 4th floor corner room offers a very spacious floor plan. It features hardwood floors, vaulted ceiling, 2 large flatscreen TVs, granite countertops and rapunzel windows that open up to a spectacular panoramic view of the city, lake and mountains – consists of 2 queen beds, a sofa bed, coffee maker, iron & ironing board and small fridge.
Juliet Suite - The Juliet is one of our magnificent corner rooms that offers a beautiful view over Vernon Street's ivy-laden Nelson Courthouse. It has a king bed, a sofa, a large soaker tub with separate shower, vaulted ceiling, a large flatscreen TV and hardwood floors.
Ladybird Suite - This beautifully renovated corner room is themed after the famous wooden speed boat that once roared up and down Kootenay Lake. It features a king bed, a queen bed, a couch, a large flatscreen TV, a very spacious bathroom with tub and separate shower, hardwood floors and the hotel's original brick chimney has been exposed.
Horace D. Hume Suite - A charming one bedroom suite complete with one king bed in a separate bedroom, one pull-out sofa, living room, kitchen with full-sized fridge, hardwood floors, electric fireplace, iron & ironing board, granite countertops, coffee maker, desk, chair, private bath, phone and 2 large flat screen TVs.
Rattenbury's Room - This quaint corner room pays homage to turn-of-the-century architect Francis Rattenbury. The view out the window is of the ivy-laden Nelson Court House which he designed and built in 1908. This room has hardwood floors, a King bed, flatscreen TV and granite countertops. It has a fridge, iron and ironing board and has air conditioning.
