The Wheatsheaf is situated in a beautiful rural area and just 10 minutes from Basingstoke Town centre. The hotel is just off the A30 and within easy access to the M3 motorway. In the 17th century the hotel was situated on a major coaching road and the Wheatsheaf inn was an important postal receiving house, where travellers could hire horses and carriages. One of the Wheatsheaf’s most famous guests was Jane Austin who would regularly come to collect the family’s mail.
The hotel has 28 contemporary en suite bedrooms comprising of Double, twin and family rooms. All bedrooms have flat screen digital TV’s, unlimited free WIFI, hairdryer with tea and coffee making facilities. Iron and ironing boards are available upon request.
The hotel has a fully licensed restaurant and bar offering quality extensive menu to suit all tastes as well as a children’s menu. The hotel also has function room, and is ideal for small Weddings, Civil Ceremonies, Anniversaries, Birthday Parties, Private Dining, special occasions, conferences and meetings. We have free ample car parking on site.

Up to two Children under the age of 16 sharing a room with adults stay free of charge subject to the availability of a suitable room. Cots are available at most of our Hotels and at no extra charge. Please specify at the time of booking if a cot is required. Any request for additional extra beds needs to be confirmed by management as this will be subject to availability and a room supplement may apply.
