In the heart of Cabbagetown, Kingyo Izakaya is a contemporary Japanese restaurant featuring small plates created by chef Koji Zenimaru. This Cabbagetown gem features a vast selection of sashimi and sushi, grilled meat and fish, and vegan dishes like shojin, a vegan recipe perfected by Buddhist monks. Kingyo does things a little bit differently from the rest. Their fresh fruit cocktails and fresh homemade ginger cocktails (and ginger ale) are must-tries. Authentic Japanese Izakaya in the heart of Toronto's Cabbagetown, serving up Japanese-style tapas and drinks.

Read All ReviewsJapanese food cooked and served by Japanese people. Can’t get better than that. Excellent knowledgeable service. Dinner menu is larger and everything is excellent. Great decor. This I think is the best Toronto has to offer. Reasonably priced. 2 steps at front entrance, inside wooden flooring with good enough space to move around.
