English River Inn is a seasonal, family owned and operated 13 unit motel in Northwestern Ontario. We are located on the Trans Canada Highway, 2 hours west of Thunder Bay and 2 hours east of Dryden where the English River crosses Highway 17.

Whether traveling by car, truck, bicycle or motorcycle, we have convenient highway access with parking for oversize vehicles.  We provide clean, comfortable lodging at affordable prices and a picturesque view of Umber Lake. Cooking facilities are available for the outdoor enthusiasts who would like to extend their stay for some of the Northwestern Ontario’s best fishing, hunting and berry picking.

For late evening arrivals, we have convenience meals and snacks available. We provide a hearty complimentary breakfast each day. Reservations are recommended during the peak summer months.

We are small by choice so we can offer you personal service. Our friendly staff looks forward to meeting you.

• Reservations are encouraged during peak months
• Reservations must be guaranteed by credit card
• All cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to the day of check in

• All rooms are nonsmoking
• Pets are allowed with permission, maximum 2 pets. A credit card is required.
• Check in is 3 p.m. Check out is 11 a.m. EST

Stay Facilities

For our guests who want to enjoy the wilderness area for longer periods of time, so that they can fish, hunt moose, or pick blueberries, we offer two group kitchen facilities. One that accommodates 4 guests and one that accommodates 10 guests. Panoramic view of the lake while you prepare and enjoy your meals. A daily user fee is added to the room rate.

Our kitchenette unit has roomy accommodations for 2 and cooking facilities with a prime view of the lake.

Boat and Canoe rentals available.

A complimentary breakfast is included with both of these facilities.
