Outstanding hosts Mark, Georgie and our team welcome you to our national award-winning, 4 star, Ellerby Country Inn. Situated in an idyllic country setting just eight miles from Whitby, The Ellerby is a great place to dine or stay.
We are in a lovely location with beautiful Runswick Bay and Staithes on our doorstep. And the popular Cleveland Way walking trail is also a short distance away.
Everyone is welcome for dining and we are open every day from 12-9pm. We have an excellent reputation for homemade food and drink, using fresh local produce wherever possible. Alongside our main menu and daily specials, we also have separate gluten free, vegan and childrens menus.
Our 10 ensuite bedrooms have Sky TV including Sports, free Wifi and luxury touches like Elemis bath products and waffle bathrobes. All rooms include a complimentary breakfast.
We are delighted to welcome dogs in 3 of the bedrooms although our canine friends are not permitted in the bar or restaurant.

Most bedrooms are situated in a quaint cottage and decorated to a high standard, each with an ensuite. All have a bath apart from rooms 1, 2 and 7 which have oversized showers only.
Seven bedrooms have superking size beds and three have king size beds. The rooms are equipped with flat screen tv's with Sky TV including sports, fridges with fresh milk and mineral water and tea and coffee making facilities. All rooms have waffle bathrobes, free calls, hairdryers and complimentary luxury toiletries from Elemis.
Free wifi is available throughout The Ellerby. A complimentary full breakfast is served with each stay.
There is a private conservatory for residents to sit and enjoy.
Rooms 1, 2 and 7 are dog friendly. Important, please note dogs are permitted in dog friendly bedrooms, conservatory and garden but not in the bar or restaurant. Thank you.

We booked a room suitable for a disabled person, the bath room was huge with two sinks, one lower down than the other to accommodate a wheel chair user. The bathroom all so boast a shower and a huge bath. Room was spacious enough for a wheelchair user and bed at comfortable height too. The food was just simply delicious, the breakfast menu covers an excellent variety of needs and wishes including foods suitable for dietary requirements. The staff was very friendly & nothing was too much trouble for them.
