Former Scottish Baronial castle, Cringletie located near Peebles, and only 30 minutes south of Edinburgh, provides relaxing accommodation in 12 beautiful bedrooms, one luxurious suite and a delightful cottage in the grounds, all individually designed, and all offering outstanding views over the gardens and Scottish countryside beyond.

Complimentary WiFi is available throughout the hotel and we offer a range of in-room spa treatmentsshould you wish to indulge. We have won awards for accessibility and offer disabled parking, lifts to all floors and a specially designed accessible room. The hotel is set in 28 acre grounds where guests can enjoy a woodland walk or a stroll through our beautiful walled gardens. The region boasts not only spectacular scenery but some of the best mountain biking in the UK at Glentress, fishing on the Tweed(Europe's premier salmon fishing river), and some of the best field sports and golf in Scotland.

Rooms

Classic Rooms

Our classic rooms are perfectly formed. Beds vary from Double to Twin to Superking. All have a seating area with a settee or two tub chairs. Ensuite bathrooms offer a shower or shower/tub combination.

Luxury Rooms

Enjoy a little extra space in our Luxury Rooms. These offer king or Superking beds and some can be twinned if preferred. All rooms offer a seating area and ensuite bathroom with shower or tub.shower combination.

 Junior Suite

These are the largest rooms and certainly have the wow factor. These rooms offer Superking four-poster or two superkings, that can be twinned, along with spacious seating areas and luxurious ensuite bathrooms. You can also enjoy a complimentary night-time nip of whisky and late 12-noon checkout.

Suite

The Selkirk Suite is our finest room consisting of bedroom, separate lounge and large ensuite bathroom. The Kingsize bed is finished with beautiful drapery and the bathroom has a double ended jacuzzi whirlpool and separate jacuzzi shower. There's even a built-in tv for the ultimate relaxing soak. You can also enjoy a complimentary night-time nip of whisky and late 12-noon checkout. 

Ardean Cottage & Hot-tub

A converted cottage in the grounds of the hotel features two double or twin bedrooms, both with en-suite. One ensuite has a bath and separate shower, the other a shower only. The cottage has a spacious living room with kitchen and 4-person dining table. Outside, the private terrace holds your private hot-tub and stunning views to the hills.

Accessibility

When we renovated Cringletie House, we made it a fully wheelchair accessible hotel and included a range of disabled facilities quite exceptional for a historic building. This included a ground floor room and en-suite bathroom specifically designed for wheelchair users.

Disabled parking is available close to the entrance with plenty of room for transport with additional space requirements, a wheelchair access ramp outside the house, an easy-to-operate chairlift to the ground floor, and a passenger lift to the first and second floors.

After consulting with the Scottish Deaf Association, we also installed technical equipment in the bedrooms to help guests with impaired hearing feel safe in their beds at night.
