Situated on the banks of the River Monnow in the beautiful Monmouthshire countryside, The Bell at Skenfrith, a former 17th century coaching inn, is one of Wales’s renowned boutique hotels. Restored in 2001, it has been carefully and thoughtfully decorated, with polished flagstone floors, oak beams and antique and contemporary furniture, coupled with comfy sofas and chairs, all of which ensure a relaxed and easy atmosphere. There are eleven individually designed bedrooms, all with bathrooms en suite. Expect crisp cotton sheets and duvets, warm Welsh blankets, fluffy towels and aromatic Noble Isle toiletries.
ROOMS
All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, flat screen TV with freesat, direct dial telephone and WiFi connection. Children are most welcome and we are more than happy to arrange special meals and early suppers for them. Unfortunately, only children over the age of 8 may dine in the restaurant in the evenings.
Well-behaved and clean dogs are welcome in some rooms by prior arrangement (although not in the restaurant or left unattended in the rooms) at £20 per dog. Please note there is a maximum of two dogs per room.
Named after brown trout fishing flies, The Bell at Skenfrith has eleven, individually decorated rooms with luxury and comfort foremost in mind, including rooms with romantic four-posters. All our beds are bespoke with the finest linen, down duvets, traditional pure wool welsh blankets and an en-suite bathroom with complimentary Noble Isle toiletries, that we encourage you to take home. Freshly ground coffee, fresh milk and traditional or herbal teas and crunchy, home-made shortbread biscuits are provided in every room for your enjoyment.

Read All ReviewsWe were at this hotel for just one night after attending the wedding function. Our room was delightful with a fab bathroom with bath and walk in shower. My only complaint was that one side of the bed slopes to the middle. The food was generally good. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was great, a choice of cereals with fresh fruit and yoghurt, orange and apple juice and a choice of cooked options.
