Once a 17th century traditional working farm, our family-run guest house has much to offer. Come and relax, enjoy good food, a warm welcome and experience a slower, peaceful pace of life in this beautiful setting.

See the chickens in the yard and enjoy their eggs at breakfast. Step from the front door onto the Cumbria Way and walk to places such as Colwith Force, Tarn Hows or Elterwater’s Lake of Swans. Be more adventuous and walk in the beautiful Langdale valley or other surrounding fells.The local towns of Ambleside, Coniston or Hawkshead are within easy reach if you fancy something less strenuous!

Bedrooms

Every room has en suite facilities, digital satellite TV, coffee and tea making facilities, a hair dryer and ample storage. TV reception cannot be guaranteed and so there is a selection of films on DVD in the lounge and most rooms have a DVD player. Also each room is centrally heated so you can be assured of a comfortable stay whenever you visit.

We have standard house rooms (all first floor) and premier barn rooms which are in the converted barn rooms across the farm yard a few yards from the house. (all have ground floor access).

The rooms most suitable for families are barn rooms 6 The Byre, 8 Low Barn and 9 Grain Store. House rooms are not large enough to accommodate extra beds.

Check  in is from 4pm -7.30pm but an  alternative time might  be possible  with prior notice. Please ask on booking .

Please note: rooms 9, 8 and 6 are suitable for dogs. Owners are asked to keep them in the porch area and not allow them into the bedrooms or leave them unattended for long periods of time! We do not charge extra for dogs.
