Established in the happening food kingdom of Barangaroo, Anason is all about authentic Turkish cuisine conveyed in style. Be greeted by bright azure blue tiles and a million dollar view of one of Sydney's most sort after locations of dining real estate. With picturesque views over the stunning Sydney harbour and the culinary direction of award-winning chef Somer Sivrioglu, guests will be in for a sophisticated taste of the Ottoman. Inspiration from the sea influences the menu with Sivrioglu wanting to take diners on a journey straight back to the shores of Istanbul. Traditional flavours and ingredients like sumac, feta, pistachios and barberries appear throughout the menu offering diners a true Middle Eastern style dining experience. Inspired by the meyhanes of Istanbul, Anason is the second restaurant of the popular Efendy group. 

Renowned chef and cookbook author Somer Sivrioglu’s acclaimed Balmain restaurant Efendy is famous for providing Sydneysiders with the authentic taste of Turkey. Now Somer is bringing his own culinary flair to the city’s newest development, Barangaroo.

Anason, which opened late February 2016, is the first permanent restaurant to open on Barangaroo’s Wulugul Walk. Invoking the concept of the meyhanes of Istanbul, it offers the Anatolian cooking Somer is celebrated for, in a new, modern waterside environment.
