From Matteo Galletto and Michele Rispoli (ex Lucio’s) comes Capriccio, offering casual, modern Italian fare at its best. Whilst there is no shortage of Mediterranean restaurants on Norton Street in Leichhardt, Capriccio is possibly the first restaurant in Sydney to serve wood fired paninis, delectably baked to order in 3 minutes. The menu also features a classic selection of pastas, porchetta and seafood dishes. The vibrant crockery, imported exclusively from the home of ceramics on the Amalfi coast, are the finishing touches to the ultimate Italian dining experience. The idea behind our little Osteria is to create a menu of small and large tasting plates to be shared and enjoyed over a few glasses of wine or cocktail with the conversation flowing. We strive to go above and beyond your typical Italian restaurant by offering freshly, hand-made pasta made daily on the premises. Meanwhile, the wood-fire oven is used not for pizzas rather for outstanding roasted mains such as Spatchcock, Lamb Ribs and Seafood. Expect a culinary journey with seasonal menus and modern Australian twists made by our Head Chef, Nicole Bampton. With over 15 years experience in some of Australia’s prestigious establishments such as Tetsuya’s, Sepia and Lucio’s, Bampton’s deft touch is what makes Capriccio stand out from the crowd on Norton St.
