If one was to build a modern hunting lodge, it would look a lot like Cavallino at Terrey Hills. The brainchild of Giovanni Pilu, of hatted Freshwater restaurant Pilu, and Lido Russo, owner of Walsh Bay's Ventuno Pizzeria and Bacino espresso bars, Cavallino is Italian for "little horse." Fittingly, the sleek stone, timber and glass restaurant is decorated with equestrian artefacts. Rustic Italian pizza, antipasti and pasta (made fresh daily) are on offer, along with other delicious morsels you'd expect from an Italian mama's kitchen, like home-made bread.
Friends and business partners Chef Simona, Stefano and Monica’s philosophy continues to bring a blend of regional Italian flavours using local seasonal produce, boasting a diverse range of both Italian and Australian wines with friendly, young, energetic service in a warm atmosphere and stunning setting.
Chef Simona’s thoughtful menu marries seasonal and local produce with farm fresh meats, locally caught seafood and adds a handful of passion and enthusiasm. Complimented with Stefano’s wine and cocktail list which is both affordable and elegant.
Our venue is perfect to host your special occasion or event as we offer a variety of unique spaces and packages. Monica is dedicated to ensure your function needs are attended to and personalised, ensuring you and your guests have a truly memorable experience and all of your expectations are met.
The charm of Cavallino is not only the woodland country setting but also the family vibe that the staff and owners bring to light. We are passionate about creating fresh simple and seasonal dishes and matching them with predominantly Italian wines and genuinely friendly helpful service.
