There is a golden triangle of pubs in Newtown which you can easily get lost in for hours at a time on a Friday or Saturday night. So it's a good thing that smack bang in the middle of this alcoholic Bermuda triangle is a smart little cafe going by the name of, that's right, Barmuda. When revellers resurface in the morning after hours on the turps it's straight to Barmuda they go for a breakfast or lunch fix to put a spring back in the step.

Tucked away from the merry melee of King Street, Barmuda has been a local haunt for the past 12 years due to the wholesome nosh and genuinely friendly service. Many a day at Barmuda begins with the three egg omelette stuffed with chorizo, potato, tomatoes and grilled capsicum. Others wake up to some fresh ricotta on sourdough toast, topped with rocket and slow-roasted tomatoes with balsamic glaze.
Breakfast is available all day as is the lunch menu, so if it's a monster steak sandwich with all the trimmings that takes your fancy at 10.30am, Barmuda is the place to go. A local roaster supplies Barmuda with their own blend of coffee and all the jams and sweets are made on the premises. The only pitfall is that Barmuda isn't open on Sundays, when the Bermuda triangle hangover is at its worst.
