Bringing the Spanish dining concept of pintxos to the beachside streets of Bondi is Can Cava Pintxos & Wine. The fun nature of pintxos is to graze on little dishes consisting of bite-size gourmet delights, perfectly accompanied with a classic cocktail, a glass f wine or a freshly poured craft beer. Inspired by ingredients from across the world the menu also features Spanish cheese and charcuterie boards designed to be nibbled on with a group of friends. Relaxed and laid back, this cosy little diner is casual dining in Bondi done right.

In early 2017, Can Cava Pintxos & Wine opened its doors on the bustling corner of Hall St & Glenayr Ave. Bondi Beach finally has its own slice of the Mediterranean.

Pintxos, as a concept, can be difficult to define. Historically, the humble pintxos consisted of small portions of food served on bread with a toothpick through the middle but has since evolved into a sophisticated selection of experimentos gastronomicos!

At Can Cava, our mission is simple – to create a modern range of delicious, multi bite size dishes inspired by the original pintxos artisans. The fusion has resulted in a menu with a focus on fresh produce, clean flavours & herbs and spices from faraway places. The pintxos are all unique, carefully constructed & designed to be eaten individually. Our para picar menu (perfect to start); Charred padron peppers & Chorizo, chipotle, lime and the tablas (tasty boards of Spanish cheese & charcuterie) – on the other hand are made for sharing.

Whether you are looking for a remake of one of the classics; Goats cheese croquette, rosemary salt, honey or Grilled octopus, kipfler potato, olive, chilli or something more contemporary; Tuna, mango, salsa tigre, sesame or Jerusalem artichoke, dill, capers, breadcrumbs, butter milk. Our dynamic Head Chef Dan Rocha (ex Head Chef Millie Vini, Riverview Dining Room & The Star Casino) who hails from Brazilian roots has injected some serious flair into our little menu with delightful effect.

We like being small because it keeps us nimble! We’ll keep the menu spinning every week as well as with fresh specials and seasonal treats!

In the Basque country – pintxos are enjoyed in a relaxed atmosphere between friends over a cold beverage or two.  Things are no different Bondi, so we’ve selected a tidy list of Spanish wines & cava’s, Estrella Damm draught, cocktails and of course our homemade sangria – to help you get through the hours.

Perfect for a late lunch or dinner, a few afternoon drinks or an evening dessert pintxos with an aperitif.
