From Joe Valore and Elvis Abrahanowicz, the fathers of Bodega and Porteño, comes the bistro side of Continental Deli Bar Bistro. The Australia Street restaurant delivers a level of cool only Newtown can, with its nostalgic pink walls and dark timber antiques. On the menu is classic European bistro food, the kind you'd find in a regional French diner. Choose from a constantly changing list of four entrees, mains, sides and desserts.
On Newtown’s Australia Street, you will see a small, square red light burning. Past the Courthouse, past the Police Station and just beyond the Fire Station. Founded by Elvis Abrahanowicz and Joe Valore of Porteño , and Jesse Warkentin and Michael Nicolian (of Bodega and Gardel’s Bar, respectively), our Continental Deli Bar & Bistro is the next institution on this iconic Sydney street.
Continental is the realised passion for a neighbourhood deli. Bring your basket to purchase your specialty deli essentials, be it charcuterie for your next days sandwich, fromage for a friend, or all the elements for a perfect picnic. We have sourced what we consider the most interesting, rare and delicious cheeses and charcuterie as well as an impressive range of tinned delicacies; anchovies from the Bay of Biscay, clams and cockles from Galicia, sardines from France. We are however most proud of the items we have canned ourselves from incredible local produce.
