Since 1984, the Kennedy family have overseen the transformation of an Edwardian private residence into the 5 star Lindeth Fell Country House.

The Kennedy family are always on hand to ensure guests enjoy the finest Lindeth Fell experience they could wish for, whether this be a B&B break, afternoon tea, a wedding, exclusive-use event or special celebration.

We're also delighted to announce that our guests are now able to use the leisure facilities, including the swimming pool, thermal suite and gym, at a local leisure club in Bowness, at no additional cost.

Accessibility

The Kennedy family and their staff at Lindeth Fell aim to ensure that all guests have comfortable facilities, all requests are dealt with efficiently and all guests are made feel welcome throughout their stay.

  • There are free designated car parking spaces several metres from the hotel entrance with one dedicated disabled space next to the hotel entrance. Overflow parking is situated on the right hand side as you come up the drive.
  • There is a removable wooden ramp for wheelchair access into the hotel to cover two concrete steps – 7cm high and 14cm deep with a cemented iron handrail on either side of the steps The entrance is quarry tiled.
  • The reception area has seating for guests to wait in.
  • Assistance is given to guests with luggage.
  • The whole of the ground floor is accessible to wheelchairs as is the terrace and upper garden seating area.
  • Lounges and restaurant are on the ground floor with no steps. Waiter service is provided.
  • All corridors and public areas are well lit, and at night, emergency lighting automatically switches on.
  • The ground floor disabled toilet is 4 metres from reception.
  • The ground floor bedroom is 10 metres from entrance wooden ramp and 13 metres from reception.
  • Ground floor bedroom. There is one ground floor room suitable for guests with mobility problems. It has a 6ft wide super king size bed and a single bed. There are two arm chairs. It is a large room with plenty of space to manoeuvre a wheelchair. The bathroom is small. There is a walk in shower with portable stool. Grab handle in shower. Width of shower doors 45cms. Shower cubicle is 62cms wide and 117cms deep. Step up into the shower over the shower tray is 24cms. 
    The washbasin is in the bedroom at wheelchair height 29cm.
  • All other bedrooms are located on two floors involving stairs. There is no lift. The first flight are wide and very well lit with a good hand rail on the left side. There are 19 steps 16.5cm deep, and a resting chair half way up.
    The second flight is much narrower but the steps are the same depth. - 15 steps 16.5cm deep plus one extra step 22cm deep. Again, a good hand rail on the left side.
  • Assistance dogs only are allowed in the hotel. Dogs on leads are permitted in the grounds.
