Built in the 1840's, The Dundee Arms is one of Sydney's oldest pubs, located just up from Darling Harbour inside Four Points by Sheraton. The small, yet iconic establishment brings traditional Pommie pub culture to the heart of Sydney. The interior is modern however the walls, decorated with paintings and drawings that pay homage to the pub's vast history, remind guests of the pub's historic past. Dundee Arms has long been a gathering place for sailors and Sydney siders alike. Since it’s opening in 1860 Dundee Arms has been a prominent part of the overwhelmingly industrial maritime suburb, Darling Harbour.
Throughout the 1860s and 70s Dundee Arms was a thriving hub for sailors who docked in the harbour and the city’s working class. Today Dundee Arms is a piece of history, an icon of Sussex Street.
