Situated along the little Lebanon strip of Cleveland Street, Emad's Restaurant stands discretely beckoning in diners into its midst. It may not be much to look at from the outside, but step through the arches of the dining room into the streets of Lebanon. With bellowed material hanging from the ceilings and other little harem-like titbits, Emad's is a darling little restaurant in which to feast.
With a couple running the show, it's a traditional affair at Emad's and everyone is welcomed in with open arms. Sit on comfy couches that surround the tables as you peruse the menu – either create your own banquet of Middle Eastern goodies, or choose one of the set menus for an informed suggestion of favourites. Before you know it, your table is laden with plates of hummus, freshly cut tabouli and falafel balls served with as much bread as you could possibly eat to lap it all up with. Cabbage rolls and chicken kebabs are tasty options, and little parcels of minced meat and spinach and cheese rolls are moreishly good. Finish your meal off with some Turkish delight, a slice of sticky baklava and a small hit of Turkish coffee before you collect your things and roll out the door.
